Captains Update
28 Aug 2010
As you will all be aware we have just lost our Deputy Head Greenkeeper, Dave Gerdes. The funeral has been set for Efford Crematorium on Thursday 2nd September at 4pm.
As a mark or respect I have decided to cancel the final Captain's Evening, and I hope that as many of the members as possible will thus feel able to attend the funeral. There is a reception following the funeral service at the Raffles Club.
As we have now therefore played the last Captain's Evening of the summer can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taken part and supported these fun weekly games these past four months. I hope you have enjoyed them, and will be keen to suppport next year's Captain, Gordon James, when he kicks his Captain's Evenings off in May 2011.
